Chef Andrea Murdoch founded Four Directions Cuisine to create thoughtful, unique and life inspired dishes by blending together ingredients from Latin America with the ingredients of North American tribes. 

In this interpretation of Indigenous cuisine, ancient meets modern, thought meets emotion and reality meets whimsy. Murdoch prioritizes sourcing ingredients from local vendors as well as Indigenous businesses in an effort to support the local economy and raise awareness of Indigenous foods and culture.

Chef Andrea Murdoch

Chef Andrea Murdoch is an Andean Native born in Caracas Venezuela. Murdoch is using food to trace her own culture while educating the public about the expansive world of Indigenous food systems. After being classically trained as a pastry chef at The Culinary Institute of America, Murdoch started exploring Indigenous flavors and origins independently for her business Four Directions Cuisine, LLC which she launched in Denver, CO November 2017. The four main pillars of her business are sourcing locally, sourcing Indigenously, education, and community work. In Murdoch’s interpretation of Indigenous cuisine, she starts cultural conversations and serves up her personal experiences in the form of food.

This event is brought to you in collaboration with Community Kitchen Pittsburgh, who uses food as the foundation to change lives and strengthen communities, not by giving it away, but by turning it into life changing careers. Chef Andrea will be sharing her time, skills and culinary approach with students to further their culinary education.

Founded by a second-generation orchardist, After The Fall was born of a fruit-first approach to cider making. Woman owned and powered, their small batch ciders are fermented, blended, and bottled in house from hand-picked varieties in their forty-year old certified organic orchard. This resilient farm ecosystem encourages Mother Nature's most flavorful fruit, with minimal interference.
